In small teams we counted the number of toilets around the school. Then, as a whole group, we calculated the amount of water flushed away - per day, per week, per month, and for the whole school year. This is fresh, clean, drinking water being flushed away. Later we will research ways to save water - either more efficient toilets or by using grey water. It was a useful way to practice our math skills.
