VPS water watchers at work saving air con water for the indigenous water-wise gardens
VPS water watchers at work saving air con water for the indigenous water-wise gardens

At VPS we were very happy to get air conditioners in every classroom as being on the coast gets very hot and humid. After they were installed, we noticed that around the downpipes there was a lot of water going down the drain as they did not lead into the indigenous flowerbeds. So \"Project Air Con 2014\" was born! Each class has a bucket and special downpipes that leads condensed water into the bucket. Each class has a water monitor that checks to see if the bucket is full and empties it onto the flowerbeds. Our gardens are thriving and the water is free as it is made by the aircons! The next step is to calculate how much water we are saving from going down the drain.
