Eco-bricks for Mandela day
Posted by Virginia Preparatory School, South Africa on 1 August 2019

We collected plastic waste and 2 litre plastic bottles, jammed the plastic hard to make them firm and heavy and made eco-bricks. Each class participated for 67 minutes and the school collected 480 eco-bricks that were collected by Roselands. They filled up a bakkie and a trailer, and were taken off to be used to build a library at Roselands. A wonderful way of getting rid of non-recyclable plastic waste, keeping it out of our oceans, rivers and water supplies, and re-using plastic bottles to build with.
