United Kingdom
Team of the Month
Congratulations to Headley Park for being awarded National School of the Month for the UK. They have been brilliantly focused and completed a large amount of challenges in a short space of time. They have got the whole school involved in creating tie dye shirts and a potato growing contest. Keep up the amazing work!

Celebrating Watery Wins!
Posted by Water Explorer on 2 October 2015

The first year of Water Explorer has seen some remarkable water-saving work from hundreds of teams across the world.  Yesterday marked a day of celebration and competition as the winning teams from each country were entered into the international final to battle it out for the overall winning title.

Our International judging panel had a tough job as they scored the teams on their water savings, demonstration of Water Explorer values, community outreach and general level of achievement.

The highlight of the day was the  11- way video conference in which all of our National Finalists from each country were introduced to each other.  It was such a privilege to be able to connect with all our international partners and celebrate our success together!

We are thrilled to announce Public Secondary School no 1 in Pionki, Poland as the International Winner for Water Explorer 2014/2015. Beating the National Finalists from other countries to the number one stop, their Watery Explorer journey was truly outstanding..

The judges were impressed by their innovative approach to local community water issues and the way they not only identified but also acted on the issues with great care, commitment and responsibility.

The International Finalist team have won  a well-deserved trip to the Milan 2015 Expo at the end of October. This team will also be joined by Ceip Mata Linares  from Spain for their outstanding work around waste oil and DARÜŞŞAFAKA ORTAOKULU from Turkey for fantastic demonstration of the Water Explorer values whilst working with disadvantaged schools.

Blakestown Community School in Ireland were also award winners for their wide community outreach. This team targed local businesses to reduce their water footprint.  Last but not least-  Istituto Comprehensivo Leonardo da Vinci in Pistoria, Italy were award winners for saving the most amount of water throughout their journey.

Congratulations to all the other National Finalists:

  • Primary school Maurice Léauté, France
  • Alexander von Humboldt Realschule Bayreuth, Germany
  • Danville Park Girl High, South Africa
  • Somerset Primary School, Bermuda
  • Primarschule Stapfer, Switzerland
  • Springfield Secondary School, UK

We look forward to seeing many more Water Explorer achievements as we embark on another year of tackling water issues.
