United Kingdom
Team of the Month
Congratulations to Headley Park for being awarded National School of the Month for the UK. They have been brilliantly focused and completed a large amount of challenges in a short space of time. They have got the whole school involved in creating tie dye shirts and a potato growing contest. Keep up the amazing work!

Water saving fun for the whole family
Posted on 18 July 2017

We had a great time at HSBC's Family Fun Day at the HSBC Sports & Social Club in Beckenham on Saturday the 8th of July, sharing what Water Explorer is all about with HSBC employees and their families.

At our stand, we talked to families about how Water Explorer works, and how they could get their own schools involved. We had our ever popular badge machine with us as well, so that the children could make and proudly wear their very own Water Explorer badges!

We also shared water saving tips with visitors to our stand (like taking a shorter shower, or using the small flush on the loo), and asked the children to write a water saving pledge on one of our paper water lilies. Using a clever trick that we learnt from our Polish Water Explorer friends, we put the folded up flowers in water and watched them ‘bloom’. This created much excitement, with one youngster eager to put her pledge in the water so that “everyone can see it and know how they save water!”

What a waterful day!
